Hi all

I have been working on BES for a long time.
Certified and n BES trainer.
If you follow the Pre-installation tasks to the letter you won't have any problems installing and getting it to work.
Yes , sometimes it do need a few tweaks.
What people usually do is do installation then it crash, and then they want to read the installation and configuration task.
Then it turn into a mess.

Yes you can delet the log files. How many days of log files you want to keep is up to you.
It is informational purpose and problem solving.@vinay chauhan

The download and install to a creaking SBS 2008 environment took around three hours in total, and was pretty straightforward. I wasn't impressed with the amount of information BlackBerry needed to let me get the free download, and I got tripped up slightly when configuring the web server. However, for such a complex download I was impressed with how simple the step by step setup process was. In use I found BesX's web-based GUI easy to get to grips with. It's certainly an improvement over the interface on older versions of BES I've used. Web Desktop Manager was especially useful. Anything that hands back control of more boring tasks to users saves IT time. Working in a small business, BesX offers me all the control I need to run our BlackBerrys. Larger companies may need some of the more complex settings of full BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Thanks for this post! That IP6 issues has been killing me. Seems to me that RIM needs to get off their @$$es and fix the application and streamline this setup process.

George, Very nice indeed. I blew away my first install of BES Express 5 and followed your pre req's here, now working a charm after some other little tweaks.

Thanks!
