Like most people, I didn't know Professor Randy Pausch or ever heard of the man, but I saw his last lecture (via Slashdot) on YouTube and I wish I had known him. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it because it's heartwarming and inspirational. Professor Pausch passed away today from liver cancer. While his life was cut short, it's clear that he's lived a very happy and fulfilling life. I'm sure all of his friends and family will miss him greatly and my heart goes out to his family. Seeing this lecture makes me appreciate my own life and inspires me to strive and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Re: Inspirational and heartwarming last lecture George, he actually died from Pancreatic Cancer. Looks like there are other lectures he gave, including http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTugjssqOT0, which was given roughly 3 months later in Virginia. Didn't have time to watch it all yet, but after 5 mins, it looks like it'll be excellent.I have to say, i wish I had a CS professor as good as this man was. IME, it's very rare to find great teachers in CS and rarer still to find them in graduate level courses. Thanks for the original link. I'm not sure I would have discovered it otherwise. It was worth every minute I spent watching it.
